D-EEIA This is the view one has sitting in a glider while being towed by the tug. Keep the same bank angle as the tug and have the glider's nose point at the wing tip of the tug. Then have the tug's landing gear at the horizon, and you are fine. Scenery of the Ruhr valley visible. Sorry for the blurry areas in the picture; it's the windshield's fault... (mehr von D-EEIA)

D-0462 Getting as close as 90ft to each other. Moving 3-dimensionally isn't quite as easy as you may think it is. Different speeds as well as airflows and sink rates make flying in formation a challenge. As you see, it works well if the board to board communication via radio is held. D-0462 Once in a while when the sky is scattered and the cloud base low, I have the tug haul me beyond the cloud base. D-4492 In a steep circle ->the angle of over 77° gives you a load factor of close to 5g. That's what I was encountering while taking this shot. You can't imagine how difficult it is holding the camera and taking a picture -holding both your arms and the camera in position is a weight of 30kg (65lb) one arm has to support. ;-) <- Flying is fun...
