12438. The Sea King did crash on 02.02.2006, time 18:34 UTC, at open water, at the Kattegat. Position NW of the island of Anholt, Denmark. The five crew members where all rescued before the helicopter sank 16 meters to the bottom of the sea. This Sea King belongs to the Canadian destroyer HMCS ATHABASKAN a part of the SNMG1. One day after the crash the Sea King was raised from the bottom by a big crane and sailed to the harbour of Aarhus, welcomed by the crew from the Canadian destroyer.
