Foto PH-BQF in GRQ/EHGG - Groningen [Eelde], Netherlands © by Kas van Zonneveld

Airport: GRQ/EHGG - Groningen [Eelde], Netherlands Date: 26-February-2012
Airline: KLM asia   Aircraft: Boeing 777-206(ER) Photographer: Kas van Zonneveld
Registration + Info:  PH-BQF The first Triple to sport the new "KLM Asia" titles. More 777's will be outfitted with "Asia" titles in the coming weeks/months. What is also extraordinary about this photo is that they actually touched the runway!! We get the KLM T7's regularly now after maintenance, because a low approach is part of the test flight. This is the first time however that they actually touch the runway, amazing! (....more pictures of PH-BQF) ID: 1118369 / 2473 views

Nicht Shot mate, well done! Another extra ordanary thing is that the Gear-Doors aren't shut. Normally after Gear Extension they close up again, so I assume this was a ALTN Gear Extension Test beforehand. Maybe someone knows in detail?

Thanks :) It was indeed an alternate gear extension. It's a standard part of the test flights after maintenance (as is the case in the photo). This procedure seems to "scare"/confuse people, but there really isn't any danger to it.

Thanks for your Information - And I wasn't scared of the fact just wondered about the need of the alternate gear extension. But now its clear for me! Nice Shot, again.
